This photo is a westbound train looking East on the layout. The towers to the left are the loaders for the Slayton coal mine. The curved track to the left of the F7 lead to the "RatHole' subdivision into the mines. To the right of the freight are spurs serving local industries. Forward of the units are more industries served by spurs, and the Slayton passenger station.

Physically, up the mountains on the left of the picture is Campanella Ridge.
